Diligence

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. It's been awhile since I logged in, had to get my email changed even.

I'm currently in Afghanistan tearing up the country side.

Iadyenya and I are still together, we got married October, 2006, not sure if I had updated that lil bit of info. Going to try to convince her to come back to EQ. She got into WOW but it's just plain not even close to as fun as EQ was, just... can solo in that game vice here where groups are required.

How is the game going? The guild? I only have access to the public portion so can't see how everything else is going in game. :/ Hehe. We'd be returning as lvl 75's and I think the level limit is now 85? Or did I read that wrong?

Anyway, going to make this fairly short but wanted to stop in and say hi. It's amazing and a happy thing to see so many old names still left. It's too bad Kendricke says inactive, good person there but I think he was starting to take a break when the lil lady started to get tired of the game, was just hoping that he'd come back, if anyone knows him tell him Dohit says hi.

Oh... I'm not listed as retired on the roster anymore? :/ Was in long enough was hoping my name would live in fame (or infamy whatever the case was lol)

I have 180 days left in country so that's about 6 months to convince the lil lady to switch back! LOL.

I hope to that sounds good Sole. How is the playing nowadays? Is it still hard to find groups and get stuff accomplished? Did they ever go through with any server mergers? Are a lot of people returning? Is there a lot of time spent lfg? hehe, all things she will ask, that was getting to be the worst part was the lfg, everything else was hella fun of course, the guild/raiding. Raiding is what I miss the most, logging in every day pitting against the elements and whatever Sony or whoever runs it (Variant??) could throw at us. And no pk'ing was nice too I guess.

Yeah there is a lot of new things since you were last on. There is still the lfg of course as a wizard but can solo a lot more too now w/ these healing mercs.

Shoot, It make take me only a month or three to recover from being gone so long (ie... gaining 10 levels for all 3 of my characters, forgot about one *with a sheepish grin) but it's painful trying to get back account info. I do have one of our two's back and the name of her account but my god... you know how many passwords I use being in the Navy much less through various other systems, emails and shit? The worst part in coming back may just be finding out the damn accounts to come back into! lol. How much of a hassle is it to get them to bring back the characters though after you have the information, or... once you pay do they actually just appear again?

Ughn...

But I'm getting more and more excited to get back and play. I shoulda waited a few more months before looking into the damn game again lol. Just watch, as long as I can convince her I should hopefully get Dohit to 85 in under a week, a level plus a day shouldn't be too hard I would hope, muahahaha.

Talked it over with the wife and at least I if not both of us are planning on returning asap when I return home, late to mid Junish. Obviously I am going to take a few weeks vacation from work and probably won't be hitting heavy until late July at least raid wise.

Look forward to working with those I know and getting to know those I don't.

WTF is mez again? lol, j/k. It should not take me long at all to get back to normal but yeah, going to need a lil help pushing those 10 lvls I'm afraid so.... lfg (June/July). Yeeeeeeeeha.

I also will work the cleric and pally as needed if chanters are not needed nowadays anymore although I miss the fuck outta the chanter. My main in wow has been a tank pally with a strong mage as my alt... and let me say this... wow raids suck in comparison to EQ raids.

Sorry, 4 replies in a day is probably a lil much but wanted to make it still official.

Talked it over with Iadyenya and she and I are officially putting in our return notice.

Time frame is unknown but late June unless she convinces me to give her the proper time then it will be after we return from our Cali vacation around July 24th. I don't get to leave Afghanistan until around the 10th of June then have to go through an outprocess program, pysche eval and all that jive is why the extra delay. I'm going to take probably 28 days off work so (hate to burn so much time of my leave but I will have been gone 9 months without seeing the family afterall) and I want to jump right into EQ when I get back. She claims no sleep for me when I return so what else is there to do? /cough... pervs, I know what some of you are thinking.

Either way, I pray to be able to flagging shit by late July.

Iadyenya works nights at the moment but after our vacation will be switching to days like when we were in Diligence and so her raiding will be like it was in the past as well.

I want to raid at most 5 nights a week, leaving off Fri and Sat's and maybe every other Sun to take my kids back to my ex-wife since I get the two of them every other weekend.

I don't get to check this website like I used to... at my home duty station in country they call this a "game" even though it's only a forum and don't provide me access to fight the classification like I could when I was in Kuwait. It's BS but alas I can't fight that, so I will continue to check when I away from my in country home.

Anyway, again... look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new.

Why not get Iadyenya to come back early. Just think when you get back in July she could be 85 and PL you and flag you. Would love to see an old wizard return. I will give her a hand on flaggign and such. it will be good to see you both playing again.

I recommended that to her, but there's a couple of reasons I guess.

She wants to get back into it with me, but with her working nights... and the way I Power Play when I return from deployments she will fall behind as it is. She's really competitive, but only when I'm around to be competitive against, when I'm not there she's like... bleh. I dunno

Also, I can't buy the game over here, I can set up and pay for the service, and I don't know if she's wanting to run out and spend her cash on the expansions. I don't know why not, she's good enough at wasting money as it is! LOL.

Part of it may be too the main reason we half quit is that she wants to make sure that there's someone to play with. The lfg kind of killed it in the end and two make it easier to build on, wow is easier to solo if you must, even with the horde in the game camping/killing you so she may be waiting til I get home to avoid having to play alone.

I can bring that up when I next call her, emailing her really doesn't work with stuff like that.

I know for fact that I'm really looking forward to seeing ya'll too! On that note, I should really be returning late May. I got notice that my return date has pushed to the left and am estimated to leave 15 May vice 10 June so I will get to see ya'll sooner than later. You have no idea how much I've really missed EQ and ya'll so I'm eager to return, for lotsa reasons of course but EQ is one. This deployment has accomplished a lot of goals but it's tiring... I've been gone from home for 6 months and still 2 to go. I'm getting too old for this shit, 36 years old now.
